When I started on the journey of wanting to develop my own business I was completely exhausted from trying to juggle being a Mum plus working for the family business 3 days in the office but basically working every spare minute I had I was so ready to see the light. I was started to see that there was more to life than work, work, work. Now I know we have to work to pay the bills and by no means did I hate my job as Marketing Director for the family firm but I felt that it was time I did something for me, something which filled me with passion and excitement. Something where I could help others but also something where I could develop my own passions and create something which worked for my own loves and also which would work around my family.
I have always loved to be creative and I thrive on planning events and so I have pulled together all of my loves to create ‘A Day of Calm’. Not only do I get to shop for a living, who wouldn’t love that but I have also found some amazing UK brand products of which products I know use. Every product I include within my gift boxes are carefully thought about and researched before buying. I always buy a sample first and try the product in advance to ensure my customers will love it as much as I do. By carefully selecting the right products for my boxes my aim is to create a luxurious gift for my customers. I want them to feel special when they open their gift, choosing products which enhance the senses, especially smell as I will always include a product which smells insanely good. The look of my boxes will always be finished to perfection with all wrap being recyclable. This might mean that your box might be a little more expensive than another on the market but it is important to me that everything I use to wrap and package my boxes is sustainable. I know that my customers will understand this ethos as the future of the planet is important to them. This is why my aim is to also only include UK brands in my boxes where possible or at least products which are shipped from the UK only. At present 85% of my products are from UK based brands and are made by small independent UK brands which I am very proud of.
So far, I have ticked the boxes to be creative, to help others, to shop and planning as it takes a lot of planning to start a new business. So far, I have managed to launch my initial collection of gift boxes but I am proud to announce that I will be launching 4 more in the coming weeks. I also have a number of other launches coming soon which I am so excited to share with you all.
